Cycle Workshop
St. Paul’s Centre has had a cycle project since it opened in the late 1980s, but the service had to be suspended during the lockdown in 2020.

The really good news is that we now have a fully restored workshop!

In August 2022, we appointed a new Project Co-Ordinator to lead this exciting venture...

...and at the end of September, our first refurbished bike was sold in the Friday Sale!
The focus of the project will be to provide an opportunity for people to get involved in something creative and ‘hands on’. Repairing, overhauling and mending cycles for re-use can raise peoples mood, create companionship, teach new skills - overall a really positive experience.
We will of course welcome volunteers to this project, to work on the cycles, learn new skills and support the co-ordinator.

We haven’t forgotten the physical health benefits of cycling itself and to this end, we will include activities into our future programmes.

If you are interested in being a part of this then please do get in touch. The pictures on this page show the kinds of things St. Paul’s have done with cycles over the years. We look forward to seeing things like this again as well as new ventures. Watch this space!
